Microsoft Announces Mesh for Teams at Build 2021 Developer Conference
At the Build Developer Conference in May 2021, Microsoft introduced Mesh, its mixed-reality collaboration platform powered by Azure. During the announcement, officials revealed that Mesh would be integrated into Microsoft Teams. In 2022, Microsoft began rolling out Mesh for Teams in preview, offering a set of pre-built immersive spaces for activities like meetings and social mixers. Over time, Microsoft plans to expand Mesh's capabilities, providing tools for customers to create their own custom virtual spaces.
